In East Africa, next to Kenya, Tanzania is the other destination of predilection for safari. Two adjacent reserves are world renowned, the vast Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area at the heart of which the famous Ngorongoro Crater lies. All the African fauna and the impressive landscapes attract a great number of travelers. If Tarangire National Park lacks this recognition, its ecosystem is very complimentary to the previous two. Here, the woody and shrubby savannah stretches over its hills up to its permanent river, with the enormous baobab trees everywhere like sentinels of the abundant fauna ; a very « African » character !

Even though these 3 large parks do not possess the same species available in Kenya due to similar ecosystems, they present the advantage of each being a stone’s throw away from each other, allowing a permanent immersion in the wild world.

Besides safari, three other « giants » brand Tanzania with their mythic names :

  • The Kilimanjaro, an immense volcano birthed from the Rift, isolated in the plain, culminating point of Africa which, at 5895 metres, displays its open snow and glacier-covered peaks,
  • The Maasai, an archetype of pastoralist people in Africa who, clothed in red covers and armed with spears, drive their herds across the original prairies of Kenya and Tanzania,
  • The island of Zanzibar fringed by beaches of blond sand and home to the old town known as Tone Town, and much farther, Pemba and Mafia islands…
